A little about our discounted trees:
- During the spring and summer, birds enjoy sitting on the tops of trees. The unfortunate part for Christmas tree growers is that the tops are very tender and weak this time of year. As the birds rest, clean their beaks, or whatever they do there, the weight of the bird breaks the top leader and consequently the tree is lacking the proper top. After this happens, I try to help the tree make a new top and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There is NOTHING wrong with these trees except they are lacking a nice top.
- Male Deer (AKA "Bucks") like trees also. During the Summer and Fall they like to rub their antlers on the sides, bottoms, and sometimes the tops in order to eliminate the "velvet" thus hardening their antlers. This creates holes, blank spots, scarred trunks, and missing or deformed tops. Again, there is NOTHING wrong with the trees except for a few abnormal looking sides or tops.
So, we are offering these trees at a 30% discount in hopes that someone can use them. By getting creative, you can save some nice money and we can make room for new trees.
